Who we are

Delta Pathagar Forum (DLF) is a grassroots non-profit organization dedicated to transforming rural Bangladesh through the power of literacy and community-led libraries. We believe that a library is not just a building full of books, but a lighthouse of hope for the marginalized. By revitalizing rural libraries and providing targeted educational support, we bridge the gap between rural poverty and academic success.

Vision

To build a knowledge-based and progressive society where every library serves as a vibrant hub for modern learning, innovative research, and social development.

Mission

To modernize, enhance management, and ensure the sustainability of existing libraries in Bangladesh through rigorous research and development. We are committed to empowering libraries to meet 21st-century challenges by integrating information technology and providing evidence-based policy support.

Core Objectives

  1. Library Reform and Modernization: To increase the efficiency of traditional libraries by introducing modern facilities and digital technologies.

  2. Research and Development (R&D): To conduct regular research on modern trends in library science and reader preferences to implement impactful development projects.

  3. Building a Sustainable Network: To establish a powerful, integrated platform and network connecting public and private libraries across the country.

  4. Capacity Building: To organize training workshops on modern management and technology for librarians, researchers, and volunteers.

  5. Promoting Reading Culture: To launch creative initiatives aimed at reviving reading habits among all levels of society, with a special focus on the youth.

  6. Policy Advocacy: To provide necessary recommendations and proposals to government policy-makers to facilitate the overall growth of the library sector.

Our Core Values

  • Inclusivity: We actively seek out those society leaves behind, including the Hijra community, Dalit groups, and women in extreme poverty.

  • Transparency: We maintain 100% accountability in our funding, ensuring every donation directly impacts the lives of our learners.

  • Sustainability: We empower local communities to take ownership of their libraries through partnership models like the Sarpukur Jubo Forum Pathagar.

  • Integrity: We provide high-quality, non-judgmental education that respects the cultural and spiritual values of our beneficiaries.
